
If your Reading Pane is off, you will need to double-click a message in order to read it in a new window. To change the location of the Reading Pane: Click the Show/Hide Reading Pane button ( ) on the toolbar at the top of the message list.

Some people prefer to have the Reading Pane display on the right, some prefer to have it on the bottom, and still others prefer to have it turned off completely. When your Reading Pane is on the Right or Bottom, you can resize the pane simply by clicking and dragging the bar separating the message list from the message. The Reading Pane is where you read your messages.
